Captain Harish Bakshi
Executive Director & Advisor (MainFleet & Offshore)
Capt. Harish Bakshi: has been in the business of oil and gas trade since 1980. Presently he is the Executive Director - Chartering of BHN Group , specializes in Oil and Gas trade and exploitation of Hydrocarbons with specific emphasis towards offshore support and LPG carriage by ships.
Previous to BHN, for the last 30 years, he has worked continuously with Fortune 500 companies. These companies include Varun Shipping, British Gas, Enron Oil and Gas, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and British Civil Services (Hong Kong). All these companies are in the business of Oil and Gas.
During the course of this period, he acquired the skills and expertise in exploration, exploitation, transportation and storage of Oil and Gas. While at Varun, he honed his skills in chartering and operating LPG carriers.
As all the LPG carriers owned by Varun are chartered to Indian oil PSUs, (namely IOC, BPCL and HPCL), it requires regular visits to the PSUs during the course of chartering. This has resulted in forging of special relationships within the PSU chartering departments. Furthermore, all PSU shipments are consigned to Indian ports; each port has specific requirements which must be understood and ships to be operated within these parameters.
Operating LPG carriers do require special skills which are specific to gas carriage; these have been developed and mastered. Their designs and equipment well understood to get the best out of them.
